Do Not Use Biotin Injection If You:

  • Have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to biotin or any ingredient in the formulation
  • Have experienced a serious allergic reaction to injectable biotin or other injectable vitamin products
  • Have been advised by your healthcare provider not to receive injectable vitamin therapies

Before Using Biotin Injection

Tell your healthcare provider if you:

  • Have kidney or liver disease
  • Have a history of severe allergies or reactions to injectable medications
  • Have an active infection or skin irritation near the intended injection site
  • Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
  • Take prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, or supplements
  • Take other products containing biotin
  • Have upcoming laboratory or diagnostic testing

Common Side Effects

Possible side effects may include:

  • Pain, redness, swelling, or irritation at the injection site
  • Mild burning or discomfort during injection
  • Nausea or stomach discomfort
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Mild rash or skin irritation

Serious Side Effects

Stop treatment and seek prompt medical attention if you experience:

  • Signs of a serious allergic reaction, including hives, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing
  • Severe dizziness or fainting
  • Severe or worsening rash
  • Significant injection-site swelling, redness, warmth, drainage, or other signs of infection
  • Any severe or unexpected reaction following administration

Important Laboratory Test Warning

Biotin can interfere with certain laboratory tests and produce incorrect results. Depending on the test, results may appear falsely high or falsely low. This interference can affect tests used to evaluate thyroid function, hormone levels and certain other medical conditions.

Tell your healthcare provider and laboratory personnel that you use biotin before having blood work or other laboratory testing. Your provider may instruct you to temporarily stop biotin before certain tests.

Additional Safety Information

  • Use Biotin Injection exactly as prescribed.
  • Do not increase the dose or frequency without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Tell your provider about all vitamins and supplements you use, particularly other products containing biotin.
  • Follow all injection, storage, and handling instructions provided with your prescription.
  • Rotate injection sites as directed.
  • Never share needles, syringes, or injection supplies.
  • Do not use the medication if the solution appears abnormal or the vial is damaged.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
