TDEE Calculator

TDEE Calculator

Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure is an estimate of how many calories your body burns each day, including both rest and activity. It can help guide weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain goals.

*TDEE is an estimate based on standard formulas and activity levels. It may not reflect exact calorie needs due to differences in metabolism, muscle mass, hormones, medications, or medical conditions. This calculator does not determine treatment eligibility. A healthcare provider should evaluate your health profile before making treatment decisions.

Understanding
Your Results

A deeper look at what your results mean, why they matter, and practical ways to support your health and wellness goals.

What Is TDEE?

Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is the estimated number of calories your body burns each day through normal bodily functions, daily activities, exercise, and movement. Knowing your TDEE can help you make informed decisions about your nutrition and fitness goals.

Understanding Your Calorie Needs

Your daily calorie needs are unique and depend on factors such as:

  • Age
  • Sex
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Activity level
  • Body composition

As your weight or activity level changes, your calorie needs may change as well.

TDEE vs. BMR

Although they’re related, TDEE and BMR are different.

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the number of calories your body needs to perform essential functions like breathing and circulation while at rest.

TDEE includes your BMR plus calories burned through daily movement, work, exercise, and other physical activities.

Creating a Calorie Deficit

If your goal is weight loss, consuming fewer calories than your TDEE may help your body use stored energy over time.

A moderate calorie deficit is generally easier to maintain than extreme calorie restriction and may better support long-term success.

Eating for Weight Maintenance

If your goal is to maintain your current weight, consuming approximately the same number of calories as your TDEE can help keep your weight relatively stable, assuming your activity level remains consistent.
